Golden idiocy 4

The high cost of sentimental philanthropy at public expense – the romantic silliness of the political left – is demonstrated by California’s bankruptcy. Absurd expenditure on illegal aliens is one of the causes of the Golden State’s economic collapse.

Investors’ Business Daily provides some interesting statistics:

Illegal aliens constitute about 7% of the state’s population, or about 2.7 million, according to an April report by the Pew Hispanic Center. State officials say that they add about $4 billion to $6 billion in costs, primarily in the area of schools, prisons and jails, and emergency rooms. This is money the slightly less Golden State can scarcely afford.

For fiscal 2009-10, it’s estimated that about $834 million will be spent to incarcerate 189,000 illegal immigrants in the state’s prison system. In Los Angeles County alone, Supervisor Mike Antonovich says, illegal aliens add up to $550 million annually in criminal justice costs.

Little note has been made that much of California’s prison crisis is due to crimes committed by illegal aliens invited in through the sanctuary policies of its major cities and their policies of not allowing local police to notify immigration authorities when suspected illegals are apprehended.

According to statistics released by the FBI, more than 95% of arrest warrants issued in Los Angeles for the crime of murder are for illegal aliens. Nearly 25% of the California prison population consists of illegal aliens. Increased border and interior enforcement, coupled with expedited deportation, could help immeasurably.

The state legislative analyst estimates, based on Pew data, that about 300,000 of the state’s 6.3 million public school students are illegal residents. They are educated by California taxpayers to the tune of $7,626 each for a total cost of nearly $2.3 billion.

At the college level, California is one of 10 states that grant the children of illegal aliens in-state tuition rates. The financial benefits of these programs to illegal aliens are as great as the penalty imposed on U.S. citizens and state treasuries. So if their parents sneak in from Guadalajara, they get a break that the children of an Iraq veteran from Nevada doesn’t.

In health care, the expected tab for 2009-10 is $703 million for as many as 700,000 illegals. Even Gov. Schwarzenegger was moved recently to propose limiting welfare and non-emergency health care for them.

Such issues as immigration reform and health care should not be left to a thrall of politicians, who many do not have the public interest at the heart in these matters? Already we have seen this materialize with the original under-funding of our main enforcement–THE BORDER FENCE CONSTRUCTION and the weakening of the illegal worker identifier–E-VERIFY? As it always happens the status-quo have always have the monetary inroads in influencing our legislators, leaving the general population to be startled by a new law enacted, before they have a chance to respond. It really doesn’t matter who is the majority party, the American people remain alienated from secret wheeling and dealing. H.R. bills and amendments are passed in Washington chambers, but the real payout takes place behind closed doors.

This happened when Sen. Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi used their power to under-fund E-Verify or even kill it? Then in California right now–the SANCTUARY STATE–E-Verify is under a great deal of pressure, not to implement it. Assembly member Paul Fong (Cupertino) would prohibit the state, local governments, and special districts in California from requiring an employer to use the federal “E-Verify” system, even when that employer is a contractor to the government. This is typical at state or federal level, no matter the monetary consequences to the US worker. California residents should immobilize this idiot, and threaten him losing when it’s time for re-election. SAY NO to AB 1288

Right now as I comment Homeland Security Janet Napolitano is looking for ways, to undermine the ICE raids and 287(g) the local police enforcement law as seen with Sheriff Joe Ariapo in Maricopa County, Arizona and in other states I thought the whole idea of Homeland Security, along with our politicians when they took the oath of allegiance, was to protect us all. It’s more like they are out to protect the interests of the US Chamber of Commerce, Council of Foreign Relations, ACLU and all the open border, special interest groups, including millions of jobs for illegal immigrants into our country. GOOGLE—about their—REAL—INTENTIONS?

They are already showing their true unpatriotic colors, by trying to force through another disastrous immigration reform law. They keep telling us that the 1986 Simpson/mazzoli bill is broken, yet it was never enforced by any president after Ronald Reagan signed it into law. Nor would good old Ted Kennedy sponsored it, if it didn’t ring true? It’s just another trick; to legalize “God Knows” how many illegal aliens will swarm the immigration agencies. How many their really are? Which is anybodies guess, will costs trillions of dollars to support these illiterate people in the majority of cases.

Not the pariah farmers or the businesses that do the hiring, but the taxpayer will have to foot the bill and the millions more who the lay siege to the border–once the word AMNESTY is heard. Now it’s up to the American people to demand–NO MORE AMNESTIES! GOOGLE–illegal immigration and financial costs, because the public is constantly fed propaganda from the Liberals. Call your state or federal representative today! 202-224-3121 in addition to sign the petition for California, to stop billions of welfare benefits, to the overrun State at TAXPAYER REVOLUTION. See the truth at NUMBERSUSA,

Remember, these figures do not include the children of illegal aliens, who are automatically deemed citizens due to the jus soli interpretation of the 14th Amendment. Anyone who can be born here is made a citizen, no matter how they got here. That factor is obscured in most official reports on illegal immigration.

“So if their parents sneak in from Guadalajara, they get a break that the children of an Iraq veteran from Nevada doesn’t.”
Fantastic point. I live in New york, but go to UCLA, and I had to pay out of state tuition for two years(I transfered). I tried everything I could to get in state, I almost got married! Now since, I can’t afford it anymore I have to go back to school in New York!
The word illegal is in their description, how can anyone argue in their favor?!

There certainly is a dimension of the CA financial mess that is illegal immigrant driven, however there is another factor at work: Public sector unions have realised that if they have union reps elected to public office they will essentially be negotiating with themselves, thus we have $200,000.00 a year firemen, prison guards and policeman who retire after 20 years and get 80% pension for life thereafter. this isnt restricted to these groups, all public sector employees have been awarded vast salaries for little work with benefits to match. CA needs to outsource to private suppliers virtually all it’s State activities, this isn’t going to happen of course, there are just too many people on the gravy train.
This is the soft totalitarianism in action, just look at the Federal Govt. and it’s policy of employing low IQ minorities in the hope that a false elevation to the middle class will delete all differences in educational achievement between white and others.
