Commenting system changes 3

Hello readers,

DISQUS, the company which provides our comments, recently updated their system. There are two changes of note:

  1. Tab characters are now removed from comments. I’ll see if I can find a way to put them back in, otherwise please put a blank line between paragraphs or use spaces (not tabs) to indent them.
  2. You can now tag others in your comments by placing their name after an @ sign. The users you tag will appear at the bottom of your comment in silver boxes like this:

    DISQUS Tags

If you have any questions, leave a comment here and I’ll personally answer you. Thank you for your readership!

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Everything typed in to the comment box appears to work OK. Everthing cut and pasted from Notepad gets trashed. If Disqus had a spell checker then it would be no problem. Disqus needs to be fixed so it stops stripping out characters.

Here is the same text as the first one only everything is being manually entered in the comment box. These lines are entered as one long line and there should be one blank line below.

These 2 have manually inserted CR/LF chars.
There should be 5 spaces to the left and a blank line below.

    These lines
    all have manually
    inserted CR/LF chars.
