The need to knock Islam 12

The greatness of the West began with doubting. The idea that every belief, every assumption, should be critically examined started the might of Europe. When those old Greek thinkers who founded our civilization learnt and taught that no one has a monopoly of truth or ever will have, they launched the intellectual adventure that has carried the human race – not without a long interval in the doldrums – literally to the skies.

Socrates taught the utility of suspicion. He is reputed to have said, “The highest form of human excellence is to question oneself and others.” He was not, however, the first to use doubt for discovery. Thales of Miletos, who was born 155 years before Socrates, dared to doubt that religion’s explanatory tales about how the world came to be as it is were to be trusted, and he began exploring natural phenomena in a way that we recognize as scientific. He is often called the Father of Science. With him and his contemporary, Anaximander, who argued with him by advancing alternative ideas, came the notion – for the first time as far as we know – that reason could fathom and describe how the universe worked.

Science is one of the main achievements of the West, but it is not the only product of constructive doubt that made for its greatness. Doubt as a habit of mind or tradition of thinking meant that new, foreign, even counter-intuitive ideas were not dismissed. Europe, before and after it stagnated in the doldrums of the long Catholic Christian night (and even to some extent during those dark centuries), was hospitable to ideas wherever they came from.

Totally opposed to this intellectual openness were the churches with their dogma. Those who claim that the achievements of our civilization are to be credited to Christianity (or in the currently fashionable phrase to “the Judeo-Christian tradition”) have a hard case to make. It was the rediscovery of the Greek legacy in the Renaissance in the teeth of Christian dogmatism, and the new freedom from religious persecution exploited by the philosophers of the Enlightenment that re-launched the West on its intellectual progress, to become the world’s nursery of innovation and its chief factory of ideas.

Our civilization cannot survive without this openness. Critical examination is the breath that keeps it alive. But it is in danger of suffocation. It is more threatened now than it has been for the last four hundred years by dogmatisms: Marxism, environmentalism, religion – above all Islam which absolutely forbids criticism.

The Founding Fathers of the United States perfectly understood the necessity for an open market of ideas. Every citizen of the republic, they laid down, must be free to declare his beliefs, to argue his case, to speak his mind, to examine ideas as publicly as he chose without fear of being silenced.

No longer?

This warning comes from Nina Shea, writing in the National Review:

An unprecedented collaboration between the Obama administration and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC, formerly called the Organization of the Islamic Conference) to combat “Islamophobia” may soon result in the delegitimization of freedom of expression as a human right.

The administration is taking the lead in an international effort to “implement” a U.N. resolution against religious “stereotyping,” specifically as applied to Islam. To be sure, it argues that the effort should not result in free-speech curbs. However, its partners in the collaboration, the 56 member states of the OIC, have no such qualms. Many of them police private speech through Islamic blasphemy laws and the OIC has long worked to see such codes applied universally. Under Muslim pressure, Western Europe now has laws against religious hate speech that serve as proxies for Islamic blasphemy codes.

Last March, U.S. diplomats maneuvered the adoption of Resolution 16/18 within the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC). Non-binding, this resolution, inter alia, expresses concern about religious “stereotyping” and “negative profiling” but does not limit free speech. It was intended to — and did — replace the OIC’s decidedly dangerous resolution against “defamation of religions,” which protected religious institutions instead of individual freedoms.

But thanks to a puzzling U.S. diplomatic initiative that was unveiled in July, Resolution 16/18 is poised to become a springboard for a greatly reinvigorated international effort to criminalize speech against Islam, the very thing it was designed to quash.

Citing a need to “move to implementation” of Resolution 16/18, the Obama administration has inexplicably [not if Obama’s Islamophilia is remembered – JB] decided to launch a major international effort against Islamophobia in partnership with the Saudi-based OIC. This is being voluntarily assumed at American expense, outside the U.N. framework, and is not required by the resolution itself.

On July 15, a few days after the Norway massacre, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton co-chaired an OIC session in Istanbul on religious intolerance. It was there that she announced the initiative, inviting the OIC member-states’ foreign ministers and representatives to the inaugural meeting of the effort that the U.S. government would host this fall in Washington. She envisions it as the first in a series of meetings to decide how best to implement Resolution 16/18.

In making the announcement, Clinton was firm in asserting that the U.S. does not want to see speech restrictions: “The resolution calls upon states to ‘counter offensive expression through education, interfaith dialogue, and public debate . . . but not to criminalize speech unless there is an incitement to imminent violence.’” (This is the First Amendment standard set forth in the 1969 Supreme Court case of Brandenburg v. Ohio.)

With the United States providing this new world stage for presenting grievances of “Islamophobia” against the West, the OIC rallied around the initiative as the propaganda windfall that it is. It promptly reasserted its demands for global blasphemy laws, once again sounding the call of its failed U.N. campaign for international laws against the so-called defamation of Islam. It has made plain its aim to use the upcoming conference to further pressure Western governments to regulate speech on behalf of Islam.

The aim of the OIC is to criminalize criticism of Islam, though it might go along with banning the criticism of religion in general as an interim step. It will reserve to itself the right to condemn all other religions and beliefs, but allege that any criticism of Islam is incitement to violence – and call angry crowds on to the streets to prove it.

Islam is now the major threat to the West. Its ideas are the very opposite of those on which the USA was founded. It is an ideology of intolerance and cruelty. It forbids the free expression of thought. By its very nature, even if it were not now on a mission of world conquest (which it is), it is the enemy of the West.

The best way to defeat it is by criticizing it, constantly and persistently, in speech and writing, on the big screen and the small screen, in the schools and academies, in all the media of information and comment, in national and international assemblies.

If the weapon of words is forbidden, the only alternative will be guns.

Isslamm is a farce.  Idiots who still imagine that there are such anointed creatures as ‘prophets’ and who will quote chapter and verse from the so-called ‘holy’ books of these prophets are the dumbest of the dumb.
When a man or woman will tell me that they have rejected isslamm because it is irrational and evil, then I will embrace them.  But not a moment before.  Those who still adhere to such stupidity are dangerous to themselves and to others.

    • George

I agree one trillion percent  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • George

I saw a photograph of Muslims in the Middle East at an anti-American rally with one holding a poster that  read — ” Behead those who insult Islam” .  Of course , the crowd of people behind the guy holding the sign were shouting insults about non-Muslims galore.  That  of course was no problem with them.  Am I the only one seeing a double-standard and hypocrisy here ?  In their minds , it’s perfectly okay to insult non-Muslisms  but they become of course [ THE UNTOUCHABLES ].  In their minds, it’s open season on non-Muslims.
The so-called radicals are actually the true fundamentalist Muslims practicing their belief system to the very letter of the Koran. The extremists or jihadists are “marching” globally to force Islam on everyone around the world whether they (or we ) want it or not. In their minds all non-Musliams are evil, sinnister, decadent, abhorrant, and inmorral and must be converted or die. These people only know THEIR belief system and are totally ignorant and uncaring about the beliefs of others.  In many of the Muslim third world countries, the high 90 percentile of their  population are illiterate and they follow to the letter what is dictated by the local imams. They live boring and sad lives considering that pleasure and fun are forbidden in their culture.
It wasn’t Christianity that propelled America into the space age with an ultra-modern infrastructure ——-it was SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY which was an offshoot of the Industrial Revolution.   Christianity and Islam has been a hindrance to technology , science and knowledge.
We as a whole have to encourage the mainstream media to expose these situations considering that many in the mainstream media today are PC misfits who are totally biased and affraid to face the reality and speak the truth. They only use the media ( especially the print media ) as a virtual bulletin board  for the radical left political agendas.  The change has to come on a broader scale.  If we as a society don’t stand up and take a stand and fight back , then these throwbacks will win and  conquer us and turn us back to the 7th century with a savage and barbaric culture and our modern civilization and freedoms as we know it will vanish.

When these fools are comfortable with their own intolerance, yet demand tolerance from all others, they prove that they are insanely dangerous.  Isslamm is at war with the west, it is time to respond appropriately.

      • George

Not only are they at war with the west , they are at war with the entire world   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’d like to add something to your conclusion.

The best way to criticize Islam is by laughing at it, constantly and persistently, with words and with drawings, no matter how much the toxic levels of Muslim adrenaline grows, and hear the din of chuckles grow until the acerbic humor penetrates deeply enough into Islamic culture itself that it eats away the Five Pillars into a bitter pile of dust, ready to be swept up by the janitor of history.

    Then repeat for Christianity.

    • George

Hey Andrew , I agree with how we need to eat away at the Five Pillars.   It’s just the “laughing” part.  I want nothing to do with any religion and  ( Islam and Christianity ) are the worst.  I definately understand your point and we’re on the same page here , but I just can’t bring myself to LAUGHING at how people are being beheaded, stoned to death , tortured , burned to death, women forced to wear burkas,  so-called “honor ” killings,  mass murder  , etcetera.    I consider these  barbaric savages  vile and certainly NOT funny or humorous. I understand your point in making mockery by laughing at them to make them feel insignificant , unimportant, and to humiliate and embarrass them.
Don’t get me wrong  here , but these scoundrels deserve scorn and not public smiles and humor. I agree with your point and tactic but I will NEVER chuckle  at barbarians and a barbaric culture. You’re right by saying the immediate deadly and dangerous threat is Islam and then the second threat of brainwashing and control is Christianity .  Perhaps I’m looking at it from a different perspective. I understand your meaning and approach. You got it bro—-good points !

While I agree that it is exceedingly difficult to make jokes about Islam, I also feel as though the source of humor for “Islam jokes” would stem not from the examples of Islam in action, but the foolish precepts which motivate those actions in the first place. America is the world’s top exporter of dark comedy, a profession whose members are trained to take the most vile aspects of the State of Nature and flip them on their heads.

It is speculated that the preponderance of comedians who are Jewish has something to do with the extreme coping tactics of Jewish populations, who under the severe oppression against Jews rampant in both Europe and the Middle East had to do something to improve their lot beyond merely surviving. They needed to stop taking life so seriously, and in order to do that they had to find humor in some of the most dire and unfunny circumstances. Generations of selection later produced – among the many other talents of modern Jewish people, our fine host included – a solid set of comedians.

Despite this bit of history concerning the Jews, this lesson is equally applicable to us goyim as well. The best ways to delegitimize the barbarism that characterizes Islam is through ridicule, mockery, satire – coupled with logical analysis of course, which any good joke imparts by its very nature. All of these methods can best be collectively described as “humor”.

Though I do fear a basic education on the precepts of Islam is lacking amongst the general public, who might not even buy just how bad Islam is even if they hear it from the sheiks themselves.

        • George

I’m in total agreement with you Andrew, ———- it’s just that I have such scorn for these barbaric people to such a high degree that I must admit I take these situations with an ultra-serious angry attitude .   I do indeed get your point and it’s well taken.     My feelings have absolutely NOTHING to do with you per se, but the populace in general who sit around and adamantly refuse to say anything or do anything about the situation. I just wrote a letter to the editor and I’m drafting another and I’m awaiting the barrage of personal attacks from the GAWD squad as if I expected otherwise ( SMILE ! ).

For the most part this  article is right on target. There are things that are both correct and incorrect in the article. When we study the once forbidden and ancient archives of ancient history we discover that much that was credited as Greek philosophy was taken from ancient Egyptian philosophy and claimed for themselves.  Several of the so-called  Founding Fathers were black slave owners and were indeed proven to be staunch racists who made documented hateful comments and speeches about blacks and here is where I part ways with many who are conservative .  There ideas of freedom , justice and equality were meant for white males only ( NOT for everyone ) and just as we had African societies who pandered strictly to the Afro-centrist ideology , ethnic group and culture likewise .
As far as the Abrahamic  religions being intollerant of criticism ( thats a fact and still prevails today as ever before ). The mainstream media in America is overwhelmingly LIBERAL leaning and biased and gives radical Islam a free pass . They don’t do this because they like Islam but out of fear and their anti-American sentiments and a profound guilt complex and desire to accomodate their PC minded agendas against the Western society at large.
What liberals fail to understand out of their conceited ignorance is that if sharia law Islam were to take control over society , then their freedom of speech, their perverted lifestyles , their anything goes behavior, and the rights that  they enjoy so eloquently will be gone and they will suffer the tyranny of a theocratic society which they abhor as they should.  They can’t have their cake and eat it too. They can’t have it both ways—but they try.  There has to be a grass roots effort to more and more encourage the media to expose these things more openly and bring these issues more and more into the public sphere.
I believe that conservative talk radio and conservative internet sites as well as conservative publications will be at the forefront to get the message out to the people ( even though they are for the most part staunchly right wing fundamentalist Christians ).   The sad truth is the liberals who should be the very ones to support such to get the message out via the mainstream media will be essentially the very ones opposing the effort. It’s a form of social  and political suicide and utter madness . Black males are converting to Islam like wildfire in the prison system and other ethnic minorities find themselves caught in the “crossfire”.  Among white conservatives  we have overwhelmingly the radical religious right (Christians) , and among black liberals we have the radical religious left (Christians ).  Many  Hispanics tend to be Catholic ( as well as a number of Asian groups such as Phillipinos ) and quite a number of Jews in America are leaning left. Secular freethinkers as a whole need to step up to the plate and take their voices to the people and go beyond merely chatting with one another. People cannot acknowledge or understand what they don’t hear.

Although I would fight to the death any isslammist takeover, it would be funny to watch how quickly they would behead the gays and liberals.  So stupid, they are, they have no idea how to deal with enemies intent on killing them.

      • George

I agree with your assertion, except it won’t be “FUNNY”  to watch. Watching these subhuman vermin turn my stomach !
