The evil agenda of the leftist media 11

At last! The comment on the shooting of black men by police officers in America that the world needs to hear.

It  is from PowerLine, by John Hinderaker, who supports his case with an important quotation from Heather Mac Donald:

One of this morning’s big news stories is the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Antonio Martin by a policeman in Berkeley, Missouri – a place that, the Associated Press tells us helpfully, is “just a few miles from Ferguson.” The Antonio Martin shooting is currently the top story on Google News, and it is being headlined on pretty much every newspaper’s website.

But why? What makes this a major news story? The Michael Brown and Eric Garner stories that preceded it, obviously. But what made them worldwide news? Or, to go back in time, what made the Trayvon Martin case a cause célèbre, commented on by the President of the United States and followed breathlessly by millions?

The Antonio Martin case won’t be as big a story as Brown’s and Garner’s deaths. Rather than being your typical “unarmed” 300-pounder, Martin apparently pulled a 9 mm. pistol on the policeman who responded by shooting him. But every shooting of a civilian by a police officer is now deemed an important news story – with the critical qualification that the civilian, but not the officer, be black.

Are these shootings worldwide news because of an epidemic of racist murders being carried out by American policemen? That is what Eric Holder, Bill DeBlasio and Al Sharpton would have us believe. But it obviously isn’t true.

Heather Mac Donald writes:

Police killings of blacks are an extremely rare feature of black life and are a minute fraction of black homicide deaths. The police could end all killings of civilians tomorrow and it would have no effect on the black homicide risk, which comes overwhelmingly from other blacks. In 2013, there were 6,261 black homicide victims in the U.S. — almost all killed by black civilians — resulting in a death risk in inner cities that is ten times higher for blacks than for whites. None of those killings triggered mass protests; they are deemed normal and beneath notice. The police, by contrast, according to published reports, kill roughly 200 blacks a year, most of them armed and dangerous, out of about 40 million police-civilian contacts a year. Blacks are in fact killed by police at a lower rate than their threat to officers would predict. In 2013, blacks made up 42 percent of all cop killers whose race was known, even though blacks are only 13 percent of the nation’s population. The percentage of black suspects killed by the police nationally is 29 percent lower than the percentage of blacks mortally threatening them.

These stories about the killings of African-American men by police officers (or by a “neighborhood watch captain,” in Trayvon Martin’s case) are … plucked from a nearly endless supply of sad events that occur daily in a nation of 315 million, and are promoted because they further a political narrative.

An unholy alliance of activists and newspaper reporters and editors tries to distort our perception of reality by giving undue emphasis to them. Then, of course, reality begins to catch up with perception, and we have riots, murders of police officers, and so on. But understand that the decision to promote these stories, in preference to others that are equally or more newsworthy, is a choice that is consciously made by people with a political agenda.

It looks like Manson’s attempt to start a race war – “helter-skelter” – is being carried on to its fulfillment by Obama, Holder, and De Blasio, et al.

You either accept, unquestionably as gospel, that capitalism is bad and evil or you will never get good grades and graduate with a degree in journalism economics, (worthless and anti-fredom studies) political science & urban planning, education and so many other fields of study.

Journalism is of course the highest profile, but they wouldn’t get away with the the deceptions, obfuscation, mis-direction, ommissions and outright fabrications if the other areas of authority weren’t also corrupted by planned miseducation…no one to correct, contradict or refute.

FOX news offers some alternative stories, but if you pay attention to their News and Business sides, you discover they are Fair & Balanced and Tyrannically Theist and Politically Fascistic. Free market capitalism nor rights for atheists/secularists not spoken there.

Fortunately there is the internet and sites like this one and others do bring forth truth. It’s been many years and I don’t remember which site I was on when I stumbled across Austrian economics. You will not find it promoted on any broadcast or cable outlet.

Noit only is the university sytem corrupt, if a journalist wants to get ahead and get intertviews…don’t tell the truth. Of course, being conditioned by university, journalists, in general, no longer have ethics.

    • On Sundays am Fox has a discussion among businessmen and financial wizards and they’re free marketeers almost to a man and woman. Few exceptions. Most ardent capitalists. And Stossel comes on Saturday and Sunday evenings. A strong libertarian. I don’t hear much about god most times.

Ah…they speak free makets but not one, including Stossel, ever discusses the FED effects. Indeed, most (including Krauthammer who is a fervent supporter) accept the FED as necessary. Another favorite, Charles Payne, is also a planned economy monaterist. Further, except Stossel in this regard, chronically call for this regulation or that regulation even as they speak about regulation overloag.

And, god…just bring up any mention of an atheist calling for a ban of this or that and the venom sprays. The troops that came over from CNBC still retain socialist views…Maria Bartamawhateverlo is a huskter pushing investing (upton Sinclair quote appliocable for this bimbo) even when it is extremely high risk.

With rare exception, the crowd is full of those who adopt the Hayek ‘Pretense of Knowledge Fallacy’. None, including Stossel, ever recognize the Austrian Business Cycle explanation of market failures (FED caused). I again refer all to the “Peter Schiff Was Right” video. Fox ‘free market’ talking heads play a prominate roll in laughing at Schiff and not understanding free markets:

Continuing, we only spoke of the ‘serious’ folk…the opinion guys & gals are born agains…anything about atheism or secularism drives them mad. And. O’Reilly is a hardcore fascist…he demands government control free enterprise…”I don’t want free markets, I want FAIR markets”. He doesn’t want government owning means of production…just taxing, fee-loading and regulating it = fascism.

Lastly, attractive large-breasted blondes get first priority…I don’t have any complaint with this! LOL.

        • I remember the original compilation video. Saw it when Peter Schiff had turned out to be a true prophet, and egg was all over the faces of the “experts” – who had not only denied what he was saying but also laughed at him and mocked him.

          • Don L

Over the last few years the video has undergone many revisions. And, what has been scrubbed: original secondary title screen which was Austrian Economics vs Keynesian Economics, all the ‘experts’ from the left (the mainstream media cadre of stooges) and the exchange between Ron Paul and chairman Bernacke. FOX has been hung out, but they were high profile in the original too.

Two years after the original compilation showed up, a second video appeared titled “Peter Schiff Was Right So Let’s all Laugh at Laffer”. It too has been tampered with. There were more presented as mocking Schiff and the point was that none had ever appologized (or acknowledged they were wrong).

I was glad to see the Laffer inclusion whereas he is always trotted out as an expert…Reagan’s expert…he is planned economy master. His Laffer curve is touted as proving lower taxes increases revenue…
and yes, it can. But, Laffer’s curve wasn’t about lowering taxes to help the people…it was about maximizing revenue for government…revenue he intended to spend, along with the loans from the FED.

Stossel has broken from his ABC conditioning and holds to many Libertarian views. He is not, per se, an Austrian economics adherent. I have not found one talking head (news, business or opinion) on FOX that understands free market economics. The business side ‘heads’ are predominantly econometric followers…mathematical modeling based economic planning. Bottom line…I scream a lot at the screen listening to these fools…as they misinform the nation.

            • What about Jonathan Hoenig? I rather like what I’ve heard him say. I see he has an organization called CapitalistPig. I like that too – mocking the enemy with their own nonsense.

            • Don L

Yes, Jonathan is another favorite…an Ayn Rander too! He again, however, does not find any fault with the FED. If he weren’t a hedge fund guy, benefitting from FED manipulation and redistribution, would he still ignore the FED…or does he just not know?

As you are aware, I firmly believe, as did Hayek, the FED IS the cause of economic failures and unnatural inequality (Hayek’s Nobel Prize was based on this). Not fighting against the FED negates any freedom/individual rights spiel from anyone.

“If men were angels we’d need no laws” — James Madison.

“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws.” – Mayer Amschel Rothschild

When, in 1913 on Dec 23rd – 101 years and 2 days ago, Wilson and the Democratic-controlled 63rd Congress gave absolute control of the US currency to the FED…the Republic of laws was stolen. To not END the FED is to accept slavery…we are on that road and we are close to the end.

All the well meaning praise for ‘Americanism’ is for naught…like chronically referring to the United States as a nation when in fact it was founded as a union…as a union was the first and most important check and balance that had to be crushed toward a permanent central bank. Democracy in place of Republic, nation instead of union or confederacy and pledging to an ‘indivisible’ entity is to be mentally manipulated and conditioned to accept traveling the road to serfdom.

            • You’ve given me my first Christmas Day laugh with your last few lines! Thanks for that. And I do take your point about the FED. Entirely.

            • Don L

Wow…I’ve brought you your first laugh of the day and you have brought me my first insult…it seems.

I was quite serious in my “last few lines”. So, I’m kinda curious what you find so humorous. I recognize that United Staes is now, since Lincoln, seen as a nation. To accept that as true is to say it was OK to crush the Founders’ primary Check & Balance on the central giovernment and snuff off their revolution and secession from England. Either the Founders’ plan was brillianr, as you have oft commented, or it wasn’t? We are a republic not a democracy…a laugh there? And, a deceitful pledge, authored by a hardcore christian socialist, intentionally constructed to erroneously soldify the notion of a central-power-conceived nation rather than “…free and independent [states] nations” uniting in a confederation/union isn’t funny, it’s traitorous…generations of damage.

If I’m wrong in some way let me know. I don’t get the joke. I know you like me and would not intentionally insult me…so confusion is my current state.

            • It was a sympathetic laugh, not a disagreeing one. Pledging to an “‘indivisible’ entity” just is funny.
