Even Atheists blindly supporting the christian line – that life is a sin – by calling reincarnation as a mistake – are you not saying life is a mistake? First time is a mistake also? So then Einstein was a mistake? Mozart? Most people see life as harsh, difficult and that is where religions get them – by making easy promises of fantasy lands of plenty awaiting after death. Are you guys saying the same thing then? If reincarnation is a mistake, then life must be too – so no life is better? Tat Tvam Asi – 3 famous Hindu words – You are that – if you feel life is a mistake, then that is what you will get – you will no longer exist

    • You misunderstand the cartoon, ramaraksha01.

And we do not believe that “life is a sin”. We live, that’s all we know. We try to make the most of it. But who wants to enjoy or endure it twice? Let alone a multitude of times!

      • ramaraksha01 .

Yes but you think you get to go off to some magic land run by a Sugar Daddy God who has nothing better to do than keep you in comfort for eternity? Keep dreaming.
Reincarnation basically is saying yes to Life, if you don’t want life, that is your choice, you will cease to exist or since the soul does not die, you will live as a spirit, like an atom or a sunbeam does. You won’t have any pain or suffering, in fact, you won’t feel anything because you won’t have a brain or eyes or a body
Life has been so harsh we have failed to realize that it is a Gift, an opportunity from God!

        • WE DO NOT THINK WE “GET OFF TO SOME MAGIC LAND RUN BY A SUGAR GOD”. WE ARE ATHEISTS. THAT MEANS WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANY GODS. WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE “SOUL”. WE DO NOT “FAIL TO REALIZE” ANYTHING THAT YOU BELIEVE IN. WE JUST DON’T BELIEVE IN IT.

    • No. The cartoon is saying one life is enough. It’s not saying that the cartoonist doesn’t like this life. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t. I think he probably enjoys his work. Laughing is a huge joy in any life. We most definitely do not believe in some sort of “life” after death. It’s an absurd idea. You are making unwarranted assumptions.

The buddist monks might get it but guess who doesn’t: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlIrI80og8c

What did the Buddhist monk say to the hot dog vendor?
    “Make me one with everything.”

What did the hot dog vendor say when the monk asked for his change?
    “Change comes from within.”

Meant to post my video as a reply to you…oh, well. See my video post above.

That’s a good one! Might inspire a good idea for one of those atheist billboards –
“Just say NO to magical thinking”!

    • ramaraksha01 .

Basically life has been so harsh for so long that people hoped for a nicer after life and religions jumped in to promise a life of plenty with the caveat of course, you must join them – setting up religious divide and promoting religious hatred. Hindus saw this and came up with reincarnation – you die, you come right back – no running away to magic fantasy lands. If everyone adopted this, there would be no more terrorism. Terrorists are people who are not cutting it in life, they are encouraged to kill and told that god will reward them with the good life
In one life too you have reincarnation – you are not the same person that you were as a kid, as a teenager, as an adult. As you get older, you will change once again, you will reincarnate. These ideas are not that complicated

      • Don’t you find the cartoon funny at all? It’s supposed to be a joke.

        • ramaraksha01 .

Maaaybe? but maybe also the cartoonist is trying to tell us something? My rejoinder is what do you think is going to happen if you don’t reincarnate? Reincarnation is basically saying yes to life. If you say no, then you cease to exist, that’s all! How is that any better? I think the cartoonist is a christian who thinks that he will get to go off to some magic land of plenty, a Sugar Daddy God who has nothing better to do than to keep him in comfort for eternity. Yes, that’s the Grand Plan – come down to earth, live a few years, make sure you join the “right” religion and “right” God and then live the good life forever. But join the “wrong” religion, pray to the “wrong” God and get tortured forever. Does this make any sense at all?
Amazing that religion has brainwashed the best of them with this nonsense

          • liz

“What do you think is going to happen if you don’t reincarnate?” I would say it is correct that “you cease to exist”. Whether that’s better than reincarnation or not is beside the point, since we don’t have the ability to influence reality simply by believing something about it. Of course you can believe in reincarnation (or anything else) if you want to, but that doesn’t necessarily make it true.
In the end, I think acquiring a clear understanding of reality by relying on reason is a much better way to “say yes to life” than any religious belief.

            • liz

Just because a person chooses to believe something doesn’t mean it is true, or will happen. You believe in reincarnation – that doesn’t make it real. It can’t be proven that it is real. An atheist simply accepts the reality that there are no facts whatsoever upholding any belief about the existence of the supernatural.
Just because I acknowledge facts does not mean that I reject life.
I simply reject a belief in the supernatural because it is irrational.

      • liz

As you say, Hindus “came up” with the idea, as all religious ideas originate in the minds of human beings.
As religious ideas go, though, it probably is an improvement on the others. Terrorists should come back as cockroaches.

        • ramaraksha01 .

yes that is what Tat Tvam Asi is about – You Are That – a Terrorist is saying he has no heart, his soul is black, he is not fit to be human, maybe life as an animal or a bug will suit him better. Come back as a Hyena, feed on blood and prey – You come back as the person that you are

      • THOSE IDEAS ARE NOT COMPLICATED, THEY ARE SIMPLY STUPID.
