Global cooling coming soon 6

It has long seemed to us that prophecy of the planet burning up was theological rather than scientific.

Now we learn (somewhat belatedly) that a “mini ice age” is coming soon. In just 12 years from now (this being 2018), the earth will become colder. Much colder.

That is, if those scientists were right whose prediction Jon Austin wrote about in the Express in December 2o15:

A team of European researchers have unveiled a scientific model showing that the Earth is likely to experience a “mini ice age” from 2030 to 2040 as a result of decreased solar activity.

Their findings will infuriate environmental campaigners who argue by 2030 we could be facing increased sea levels and flooding due to glacial melt at the poles.

At the National Astronomy Meeting in Wales, Northumbria University professor Valentina Zharkova said there will be a freeze the like of which has not been experienced since the 1600s. From 1645 to 1715 global temperatures dropped due to low solar activity so much that the planet experienced a 70-year ice age known as Maunder Minimum which saw the River Thames in London completely frozen.

The researchers have now developed a “double dynamo” model that can better predict when the next freeze will be. Based on current cycles, they predict solar activity dwindling for ten years from 2030.

Professor Zharkova said two magnetic waves will cancel each other out in about 2030, leading to a drop in sun spots and solar flares of about 60 per cent.

Sunspots are dark concentrations of magnetic field flux on the surface that reduce surface temperature in that area, while solar flares are bursts of radiation and solar energy that fire out across the solar system, but the Earth’s atmosphere protects us from the otherwise devastating effects.

She said: “In cycle 26, the two waves exactly mirror each other, peaking at the same time but in opposite hemispheres of the Sun.  “We predict that this will lead to the properties of a Maunder Minimum.”

The test of good science is whether it predicts accurately.

While we do not relish the coming of a great shiver, there would be a certain intellectual satisfaction – not to mention a degree of Schadenfreude – in store for climate skeptics like us if it transpires that the prophets of cooling were right and the prophets of warming were wrong.

We are all old enough here to remember the Time Magazine cover concerning the Ice Age to come, right? And…we all know that there was a mini ice age a ONLY a couple of hundred years ago. There have been very, very cold winters and very, very hot summers on a cyclical basis, mixed in with less severe seasons, and we know this.

CO2 levels have been extremely higher than what we have now, which is not really as bad as is made out to be…and the Earth is still here. Creatures either adapted or perished and that is what humans must do. To believe cult-like that humans can alter this planet’s future climate is utter arrogance.

We can clean up, but everybody has to clean up their own mess. If some nations feel that they can help others, so be it…but the others must be willing to help themselves, as well, and the deal must be strictly monitored. Really…is it a burden to clean up the planet, when billions and billions are spent on frivolous merchandise and entertainment? It certainly is not.

That is not the agenda, however, redistribution of wealth is the agenda…and the elites admit it openly. That and ridding the world of “lesser humans” through various means, none of them benevolent.

Science Is science; the only way we have of finding out about stuff; and there will be no consensus until science is finished investigating. If there is an agreement in decades to come, scientists still won’t know exactly what the climate or weather is going to be, nor what humans may be able to do about it…because it is beyond our control. Let us control what we can control and do it for the right reasons and help each other to spend resources on that instead of …turf wars or religious wars or supporting dictatorships or enslaving other humans.

I like this place but I’m not a science denier. I thought this whole thing was bullshirt so I looked it up and I found this:

    • Thanks for the link, BobC. Always good to know that scientists are still arguing with each other on questions of climate change,

Yes, it’s easy to spread “dangerous misinformation”, which is what the global collectivist elite have been doing since day one with the whole “man made global warming” narrative. They have themselves admitted that it’s nothing more than a political maneuver in their campaign to destroy Capitalism and establish worldwide Socialism (with themselves in charge, of course). That alone should be enough to cause one to be skeptical of their assertions, however backed up by supposed scientific “consensus” they may be. A handy rule of thumb – science is never “settled”, but Leftists always lie.

As this event will prove, climate change is, and always has been, caused by the sun and its cycles, not by human activity. It’s not that hard to see the correlation, and they all knew it. They lied for the advancement of the collectivist cause, and destroying the credibility and integrity of science is a small price to pay to achieve the destruction of Capitalism!

No, indeed, Jillian, human beings always thrive when temperatures are warmer and little ice ages are no fun for anyone, except ice skaters. Less than a hundred years ago…and we were told about this by our grandparents and older parents…the Chesapeake Bay froze over, so that horse-drawn wagons could transport across it. And..not too long ago, in my adulthood, the Bay once again froze so bad that oil barges could not make it up to the cities and an icebreaker struggled to get it open and failed.

I follow a blog called Climate Depot, which you might find interesting. A solar minimum is affecting us currently, if I understand correctly. Some of the physics entailed is truly over my head.
