Obama has a Russian uncle? 217

The Soviet army liberated Auschwitz in January 1945.

Somehow an uncle of Barack Obama was serving in it at the time. Or so Obama seemed to be claiming on Memorial Day.

CBS news reports the speech in which Obama said that his uncle was among those who liberated Auschwitz.

Furthermore – and this seems to have been the main beef – that poor guy had to endure the horror of what he saw there without getting any help from some mental health worker.

Do not our hearts go out to him?

Israel a ‘constant sore’? 519

In Obama on Zionism and Hamas, Barack Obama calls Israel a ‘constant sore.’

JG: Do you think that Israel is a drag on America’s reputation overseas?

BO: No, no, no. But what I think is that this constant wound, that this constant sore, does infect all of our foreign policy.

Do we really want this man as our president, when he thinks that our only ally in the Middle East is an infection?

Attack on the black church? 386

It seems that the Reverend Wright’s sort of church is not so much a conventional place of worship as a grievance clinic, where people can go every seven days to have their victimhood freshened up.

Wright in context 274

Jeremiah Wright sees no fault in Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan, he says, did not enslave him, and did not make him black.  (On Fox News today.)

Someone made Wright black?  Who could that have been? And was it a bad thing to do? Bad like enslaving people?

Do some or many blacks just hate being black? Do they envy whites for being white?

Whose fault is it that they are not comfortable with being black? Do they blame whites for their self-discontent?

And is it a kind of inverted or reflexive racism?

Obama’s Racism 343

Here’s a short piece (second item down) on Obama’s self-exonerating speech about Jeremiah Wright’s hate-preaching and how he – Obama – cannot repudiate the preacher. It’s precisely to the point.
